How to Pack Dozens of Outfits in a 22 Inch Suitcase

I found this video very informative.  Now I have to try this for myself.

PREPARING FOR THE TRIP

Ni hao  (knee how)  .....Hello!

There are so many things to do to prepare for the trip.  Keary got two audio CDs to study Chinese:  In-flight Chinese..Learn Before You Land     and Mandarin Chinese Travel Pack.  We listened to them a few times and got discouraged.  It's really difficult to remember how to say the words in another language.  Even looking at the booklet that went with the CD has the words in pinyin Chinese.  The phonics of how to pronounce the letters is so different, it didn't help at all.  You also have to remember the tone of each word.  If you use a different tone, the word has a completely different meaning.  For example, I can say the Cantonese word cha in different tones. It can mean tea if I use a medium tone.  It can mean fork if I use a rising tone.

I also watched a youtube video on how to pack all your clothing in one little carry on suitcase.  I was amazed.  I went to China by myself about ten years ago...same places.  I brought two large suitcases, one carry on and a full backpack.  This time I plan to only bring one carry on and a backpack.  I will let you know if I succeed.

Good bye for now....zai jian!....pronounced z..eye  gee...en
